In 1987 Madalsa was awarded a $4,000 Canada Council Grant to continue studying Indian Music under the tutelage of the renowned Indian Classical Performing Artist/Teacher - Pandit Chandrakant Kapileshwari. She happily lived the life, and customs of the great mother land - India, while studying, travelling and performing for over three extensive months. Madalsa, being one of the first western white women to be given this opportunity to learn Indian classical music, was also featured in the television, radio and newspaper media. She also had the distinct honour and pleasure to met and/or perform with many of the prominent artists, musicians, and writers of the times through out India. [down] |

#2. 'Bombay T.V. Producer' - receiving trophy presented by Madalsa on behalf of the Kirana Sangeet Sammelan Music Festival. Madalsa too was gifted with one of these cherished trophies, and a beautiful bouquet of red roses, presented graciously on stage to her, and to the famous Hindi film - soundtrack singers, and up coming classical performing artists who performed in this prestigious festival.
